Katie Smith

Ms. Katie Smith, 92, of Albany, peacefully passed away on the morning of Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Wynfield Park.

A graveside funeral service honoring her life will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Tifton with Rev. Carl Dunn officiating.

Born June 1, 1932, in Berrien County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Colen and Blannie Rutherford Smith. Katie retired from Southern Belle Telephone Company now AT&T where she worked for many years as a faithful employee. She was a member of Radium Springs Baptist Church and loved her cat dearly. A beloved sister, aunt, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Ethel Nygaard of Albany; nephew, Don Nygaard of Albany; and her beloved cat Stormy.

Hall and Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve Ms. Smith’s family.
