Kay Virginia (Perkins) Carroll

Mrs. Kay Carroll, 61, of Albany , passed away Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Lighthouse Ministries 2320 Liberty Expressway. Reverend Chris Turner will officiate with interment to follow on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery . Born November 3, 1949 in Camilla, Mrs. Carroll was the daughter of the late Bennie H. Perkins and Sarah Myrtice Perkins. She was a member of Lighthouse Ministries where she served as a greeter and enjoyed collecting dolls. She loved her church and her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her loving husband of forty-four years, Mr. John Floyd Carroll; son, Brian E. Carroll of Rogers AR, daughters, Alice M. Williams and her husband, Keith of Sylvester and Priscilla Carroll of Society Hill, SC; brother, Gerald Perkins; sisters, Dorothy Stripling and husband, Auburn of Moultrie, Margaret Allen of Albany, June Leverett and husband, Marvin of Atlanta and Hazel Herron and husband, Chuck of Jacksonville, FL and five grandchildren, John, Benjamin, Audrey, Sarah and Katie. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her two brothers, Jack L. Perkins and Jerry Perkins. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening before the service at the church.
