Mr. Kenneth Eugene Thornton, 62, of Albany, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at his home. A celebration of his life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Mr. Todd Kirkland will officiate and the family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Born November 14, 1955 in Albany, Mr. Thornton was the son of the late Edwin Eugene Thornton and Shirley Kirkland Thornton. He was an electrician for many years, enjoyed fishing, watching hummingbirds and gardening. His greatest love was his family and especially playing with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thornton was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Thornton; sister, Brenda Thornton and infant brother, Dennis Marvin Thornton. Survivors include his wife, Mary Pennington of Albany; children, Anna Myers of Wrens, Bobby Thornton of Albany and Kenneth Thornton, Jr. of Atlanta; siblings, Janice (Tony) Faircloth of Baconton, Sandy (Steve) Thornton Craven of Albany, Wanda (David) Roberts of Albany, David Thornton, Gary Thornton, Stacy Thornton and Tracy Thornton; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild and his beloved dogs, Duke and Sparky.
