Kim Cox

Mrs. Kim Cox, 62, of Putney, peacefully passed away Monday, May 18, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2020, at Hall & Hall Funeral Home with strict social distancing guidelines and a required face mask. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Matthew Stone and Rev. Chris Turner will officiate. The family requests that everyone in attendance wear her favorite color, yellow, in honor of Mrs. Kim’s life and a chair if you would like to sit. Born November 8, 1957, in San Jose, CA, Mrs. Kim was the daughter of the late Herbert and Yvonne Young. She was a wonderful wife mother, and grandmother who adored her family and grandchildren. At young ages all of her grandchildren chose a different name for her and Mrs. Kim was affectionately known as grandma, granny, memaw, and maw maw. She loved working in the garden, cooking for her family, and was known for making the best fried okra cornbread around. She loved the Lord dearly and was a faithful member of Open Door Worship Center in Putney. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Survivors include her beloved husband of 43 years, John Cox, Sr. of Putney; her children, Linda Cox (Mitch) of Lee County, and John Cox (Kayln) of Putney; grandchildren, Jeffrey Senkbeil, Morgan Senkbeil, Brett Sims, Alleigh Grace Cox “Gracie”, and Cari Jo Cox “Shortcake”; and a host of extended family and friends.
