Lee F. Tate, 53, formerly of Albany, GA, went to join his father, Leo Tate, in Heaven on July 12, 2014 following a brain aneurysm in late February. Lee was surrounded by his family at the time of his death at Peachtree Christian Hospice in greater Atlanta. He is survived by his children Amber and Brandon Tate of greater Atlanta; wife, Debbie McDowell-Tate of Birmingham, AL; mother, Kathy Tate; brothers, Michael Tate and Tim Tate (Pam) all of greater Atlanta; nieces and nephews, Tia, Steven, Kayla, Caitlyn, Chadd, Kylie, Aiden and Brayden; and dog daughters, Morgan, Madison and Marlee. Lee called Albany home, but had lived around the US and the World, first as a child in an Army family, then a husband of a professional Girl Scout. Retired for many years, days spent in a boat on the Gulf of Mexico with family and friends, volunteering with the Girl Scouts and yelling “Roll Tide†on football Saturdays were his favorite pastimes. Once you could find him hunting deer with his brothers until he and his son raised an abandoned fawn named Misty. Lee was a gentle giant with a heart bigger than his stature; and he had no greater love than his children and family. Please join us as we rise Lee up on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Hall Hall Funeral Home, 324 S. Mock Road, Albany, GA 31705. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama, 105 Heatherbrooke Park Drive, Birmingham, AL 35242, www.girlscoutsnca.org; Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover St. #3, Hanover, MA 02339, www.bafound.org ; or Peachtree Christian Hospice, 3430 Duluth Park Lane, Duluth, Georgia 30096, www.peachtreechristianhospice.com .
