Lee Roy Davis

Mr. Lee Roy Davis, 71, of Albany, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Poplar Arbor Church in Sale City. Rev. Brain Keith Marchant will officiate with interment to follow in the Church Cemetery. A native of Albany, GA, Mr. Davis was the son of the late Roy and Anna Mae Carnes Davis. He worked for over forty years with Coats and Clark. Training horses, hunting and fishing were among some of his favorite activities in his younger years. His greatest joy in life was his family and doing all he could for them. He was a member of Poplar Arbor Church where his wife, Doyce played the piano for over forty years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doyce Davis and a sister, Mae Brown. Survivors include his children, Monica Davis of Raeford, NC, Marlena Davis of Albany, Fay Roberts (Lorin) of Webster County, Jeff Davis, Steve (Laurie) Davis all of Mitchell County; special niece that he considered a daughter, Tiffany Cook of Leesburg; brother, Tim Davis of Albany; sister, Bobbie Buffi of Albany; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
