Leonard Eugene McCort, 79, of Albany passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009. Funeral Services honoring the life of Mr. McCort will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. (today) Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Tom Mueller will officiate with interment to follow at Andersonville National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with Military Honors. Mr. McCort was born June 10, 1929, in Wellington, Kansas, son of the late John and Della Pittman McCort. He attended school in Wellington. Leonard enlisted in the Navy and served our country for 26 years, retiring on May 5, 1973.nbsp; He served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. While in the service he met his wife, Satoko Fujiwara McCort in Japan. They married on December 26, 1961. He retired from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital after 20 years of service as a security guard. Leonard was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, the VFW and the American Legion. In addition to his parents six brothers and three sisters preceded Mr. McCort in death. Survivors include his loving wife, Satoko Fujiwara McCort of Albany; sister, Mildred Hainsworth of Wellington, KS; sister-in-law, Miyoko Fujiwara; brothers-in-law, Hikoshi and Akira Fujiwara of Japan; special friends, Kenneth and Wonnie Barnes of Albany and numerous nieces and nephews.nbsp;nbsp; nbsp;
