Linda Benson

Mrs. Linda Benson, 67, of Cordele, and formerly of Albany, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2020, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester. Rev. Paul Pritchard will officiate and the family will receive friends following the service. Born on May 13, 1953, in Moultrie, Mrs. Benson was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ida Wilson. She spent her years working in the restaurant industry as a waitress and later was a loving homemaker caring for her family and home. She was of the Baptist faith and in her free time, enjoyed playing on the computer. A beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lamar Benson Sr; and sister, Mavis Stanaland. Survivors include her children, Linda Henderson of Cordele, and Lamar Benson and his wife Jannie of Albany; sisters, Judy Yeoman and Elizabeth Blair both of Florida; her grandchildren, Kimberly, Christina, Tyler, Bradley, Dustin, and Kaitlin; 9 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog Prissy.
