Mrs. Lois Evelyn Davis, 86, of Albany, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Bobby Moye and Mr. James Hill will officiate. Internment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Born April 6, 1926 in Bay Minette, AL, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late John William Baggette and Martha Jane Nathey Baggett. Mrs. Davis graduated from Tate High School in Gonzalas, FL and attended Albany State and Darton College having earned an Associates Degree as a Nursing Assistant. She was a faithful member of Sunnyside Baptist Church for a number of years. Mrs. Davis was a strong determined woman who helped lead her family as a dutiful Marine wife many times having to be the head of the household due to military deployments and her husband’s occupation. She was very active in community affairs. Mrs. Davis loved the Atlanta Braves and she was very fond of Dr. Billy Graham. She was the youngest of eight siblings and was the last to remain of them. Mrs. Davis will be remembered as a loving mother, granny and great granny. Survivors include her daughters; Martha Ellen Davis Guyton of Albany, Yvonne L. Davis of Albany, Donna Kay Davis of FL, and Karen Davis Bradbury of West Palm Beach, FL; her sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Liz Davis of Sylvester and Wayne and Sandra Davis of TN; thirteen grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 19 from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
