Lois (Sellers) Simmons

Mrs. Lois Sellers Simmons, 78, of Albany, passed away, Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery in Moultrie. A native of Colquitt County, Ga, Lois was born on January 26, 1934 to the late Bennie and Minnie Sellers. One of thirteen children, she is survived by her husband, Vernon Simmons of Albany; children, Cathy Simmons and her fiancé, Joseph Sells of Albany, Sandy Dieckman and husband, Richard of Sylvester; sisters, Eldora Harrell and her husband John of Albany; Ann Grier of Doerun; brother, Luther Sellers of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Jeremy Simmons and his fiancé Danell Tyler, great-grandchildren, Kylie West, Clay Simmons, Jimmy Catlin, Samantha Catlin and Ryan Todd. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bobby” Simmons; granddaughter, Jennifer Maffet; three sisters and six brothers.
