Gertrude Ann Burnham, 80, of Spring Flats Road passed away Thursday, March 26, 2009 at her daughter’s home in Oakfield. Funeral services honoring the life of Mrs. Burnham, will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Pine Bluff Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 5:00 p.m. at Wayfare Primitive Baptist Church in May Day, GA. Reverend Keith Smith, Reverend Bruce Smith and Reverend Neal Hager will officiate. Gertrude Ann Burnham was born on November 29, 1928 in Flagstaff, Arizona to the late Conrad Pessarra and Florence Norman Pessarra. She was a member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church, was a retired school paraprofessional and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her husband, Maxie Burnham and her grandson, James Scott Starnes, preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Sonny “Stan” Burnham and his wife, Rose of Bostwick, GA.; daughters, Susan Jane Dingler and her husband, Dale of Oakfield, Kathy Thomas of Birmingham, AL. and Sandy McCall and her husband, Mike of Jasper, FL.; sister, Ollie Betzer of Portland, Oregon; 5 grandchildren, Angie, Wayne, Stanley, Jennifer, and 11 great-grandchildren.
