Ludie Carolyn Ramsey

Mrs. Ludie Carolyn Ramsey, 95, of Albany, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, on Monday, May 1, 2023, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service. Following the service Mrs. Ramsey will be laid to rest beside her husband in Floral Memory Gardens.

Born January 21, 1928, in Americus, Mrs. Ramsey was the daughter of the late Henry Randolph Brown and Lillian Kent Brown. She was of the Christian faith and was baptized at the age of 17. She retired in 1993 from Belk Department Store as a retail buyer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, who was always caring for others. When she was able, she loved to cook, sew, crochet, and knit. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her beloved family and will be greatly missed by all.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Fair Ramsey; daughter, Nancy R. Harville; brothers, Birl R. Brown, James Paul Brown, and Luther Gene Brown; and her sisters, Mary V. Brown, and L. Lavinia Brown.

Those left to cherish her memory include her 3 sons, Stephen L. Ramsey and his wife Beverly, Michael F. Ramsey and his wife Rosa and Billy W. Ramsey and his wife Patricia, all of Albany; 2 daughters, Lynne R. Curtis and her husband, Tye of Athens, and Carol R. Letson and her husband Reggie of Jackson; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Kitty Brown.
