Marcelle Purser Brooks

Mrs. Marcelle Purser Brooks, 89, of Worth County, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at her home.

Born July 9, 1934, in Cochran, Mrs. Brooks was the daughter of the late David and Rubye Smith Purser. She worked at Win-Dixie as a talented cake decorator and for years as a school bus driver. She had many rare African Violets and enjoyed collecting bells. She was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Brooks and son, David Brooks.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Teresa Lynch of Worth County, Paula Brooks of High Springs, FL, and Jane Caplinger and Larry of Monroe; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Brooks, her remains will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.
