Marion Tony Henderson

Mr. Marion Tony Henderson, 76, of Albany, peacefully passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at his home.

Born August 26, 1947, in Fitzgerald, Tony was the son of the late Johnny Russell “Buck” Henderson and Doris Kathryn Shepherd Henderson. He was a 1965 graduate of Dougherty County High School, a 1971 graduate of Georgia Tech where he received an engineering degree. Tony was also a member of Sigma NU. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, Vice President of Henderson Company, Inc. of Albany. He worked as supervisor at Flanigan Plumbing Company of Albany, and as job estimator for Hatcher Tractor Company. He enjoyed deer hunting with his son, grandchildren, and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, and golfing with friends and family. He was greatly devoted to family and friends, but most importantly, “Tony was the absolute best big brother to his sisters.”

In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his daughter, Cam Darby.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Michael and Jennifer Higgins of Atlanta; sisters, Kathryn Meyer and Sherry Twilley both of Albany; grandchildren, Kemper, Ella Grace, and Owen Higgins of Atlanta; nieces, Katie Twilley of Austell and Taylor and Tyler Stephens of Albany; great-niece, Kiyah Twilley of Austell; great- nephew, Khiyloh Twilley of Austell; and several cousins and extended family members.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends following the service.
