Mary Alice Alchus

Mrs. Mary Alice Alchus, 88, of Muscle Shoals, AL, and formerly of Albany, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Floral Memory Gardens in Albany with Rev. Nathaniel McCalvin officiating.

Born January 17, 1936, in Moultrie, GA, she was the daughter of the late Reed and Dot Mathews. She worked as a talented seamstress for many years until her retirement. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Alchus was a doting mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Duane McCalvin and her sisters, Letha Brock, Virginia Croy, and Mavis Pope.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Christopher McCalvin and his wife Atusko; daughters, Dianne Holton and her husband Tim, and Cherri Hall; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
