Mary Elizabeth (Scarbrough) Barker

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Scarbrough Barker, 77, of Albany, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 29, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Liberty Parkway Church of God. Rev. Ralph Horne and Rev. Matt Harrell will officiate with interment to follow at Leesburg Cemetery. Mrs. Barker was born on August 20, 1937 to the late Elmo Scarbrough and Ruth Martin Scarbrough. She retired from MacGregor Golf Company of Albany, was a lady who loved her family and was a faithful member of Liberty Parkway Church of God. She served her Lord and Savior tirelessly through the years singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. She always had a smile on her face and never complained about the difficulties of life. Even in the closing days of her life she prayed for everyone who visited her and talked of the faithfulness of God. For her to live was Christ and to die was gain. Another angel now sings in Heaven’s choir and she will be waiting with great expectation to meet us all some sweet day. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall William Barker that passed away on May 29, 2015 and her beloved son, Zohun Morgan. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James Morgan, Jr. and wife, Patricia of Leesburg; grandson, James Morgan III and wife, Ginessa of Orlando, FL.; great-grandchildren, Logan, Daxon, Ronin Morgan all of Orlando; step-son, Michael W. Barker and wife, Trisha of Crane, TX; step-daughter, Marsha Ann Webster and husband, Otis of Cincinnati, OH; special friends, Greg and Charlene Sawyer of Albany; Hazel Hughes of Albany, Grace McGlamery and family, Sandra Heffernan of Albany and Geri Coburn of Albany and her extend church family at Liberty Parkway Church of God. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Liberty Parkway Church of God.
