Mary Sue (Mckeen) Bowen

Mrs. Mary Sue Bowen, 74, of Albany, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in the chapel of Hall Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Stan Glass will officiate and the family will have a private interment at Floral Memory Gardens. Born August 21, 1941 in Heflin, Alabama, Mrs. Bowen was the owner of Sue Bowen’s Beauty Shop for several years; later she worked at Dillard’s Beauty Saloon until her retirement. She was known and will be remembered for the way she cared for others. She also will be remembered for her cooking and the joy she gave and received in sharing. She attended Life Christian International. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her generous and kind spirit. Survivors include her children, Dawson Bowen, Donna Bowen and Andrew Bowen (Dixie) all of Albany; sisters, Marie Lunzer of Hammond Wisconsin, Dolly Chambers (John) of Banning California, Vecoy Hutto and Shirley Chestnut both of Smyrna, Judy Bird of Dalton and Ann Kimbrell of Albany; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Bowen, her mother, Gladys McKeen, sisters, Agnes Thomas and Polly Day, brothers, Gaines McKeen, Pete McKeen, Patrick McKeen and Larry McKeen. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at Hall Hall Funeral Home.
