Mr. Max Dean Parker, 75, of Albany, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at his home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Poplar Arbor Church Cemetery, 5215 Thigpen Trail Sale City GA 31784. Pastor Noah Phillips and Rev. Russell Paine will officiate. The family will visit with friends one hour before the service at the cemetery where social distancing will be required. Born April 29, 1945, in Colquitt County, Mr. Parker was the son of the late Earl and Fannie Lou Allen Parker. He was the founder and owner of The Klearview Center for Independent Living of Albany. Mr. Parker was an active member of the Southwest Georgia Chapter of Federation of the Blind where he volunteered and held many fundraisers which greatly impacted the blind community. More than anything he loved Jesus and enjoyed being in God’s House. He was a member of Bethel Holiness Tabernacle. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Parker and several brothers. Survivors include his beloved wife, Donna Parker; daughter, Tonya Erickson of Albany; step-daughter, Shonna League of Carrollton; brother, Bobby Parker of Albany; sister, Betty Croft of Fort Gaines; and three grandchildren, Zack, Danielle, and Austin.
