Mr. Lavon Sheffield, Sr., 84, of Albany, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 20, 2022, just three days after his son, Lavon Sheffield Jr.

A joint visitation for father and son will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2022, at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.

A joint funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with Rev. David Cromie and Bro. Steven Youngblood officiating. Following the funeral, Mr. Sheffield will be laid to rest in Floral Memory Gardens with military honors.

Born April 29, 1938, in Conecuh County AL, Mr. Sheffield was the son of the late Hilton and Lillie Robinson Sheffield. He faithfully served his country for 30 years in The Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam Era. He worked for over 12 years and retired from civil service from The Marine Corps Logistics Base. He and his wife faithfully attended church at Faith Baptist Church for many years where they were members. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and brother-in-law he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents and son Lavon Sheffield, Jr., Mr. Sheffield was preceded in death by his son, Tony L. Sheffield.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Myra Bragg Sheffield; daughter, Kimberly Vidal and Pedro of Albany, grandchildren, Linda A. Reno and Phil of Dennison, TX, Christy Marie Sheffield of Donalsonville; Pedro Vidal and Julie of Pelzer, S.C.; and great-grandchildren, Leila Reno, Lydia Vidal, Codie Reno, Remington Reno, Will Prichard, and Lucas Vidal, and siblings.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions can be made to Willson Hospice House at 320 Foundation Lane Albany, GA 31707.
