MSgt. Robert Dale Anderson, USMC (Ret.)

October 28, 1948 — December 11, 2024

Baconton

Robert Dale Anderson moved on from this life on December 11, 2024. Mr. Anderson led his life by example; His stoicism, magnanimity, and responsiveness are all hallmarks of his soul that those who loved him most will grieve yet carry forward in their lives.

Bob was born on October 28, 1948, in Pasadena, California to Lawrence “Larry” Anderson and Marjorie Anderson (Henion). He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1967, serving in the Vietnam War. Bob retired Honorably from the Marines after 20 years, and later in life retired from civil service, primarily stationed at the USMC Logistics Base in Albany, Georgia. Mr. Anderson exemplified the look, demeanor, and graciousness of a Marine. Squared away professionally, tough when necessary, but most importantly—always faithful to his family.

On June 26, 1987, Bob married Sandra Solomon. In their 37 years of marriage, they cared for a number of dogs, all of which they loved and that brought them great happiness. Meeting and marrying Sandra created a larger family for Bob. A daughter, two sons, and many grandchildren that will forever remember riding with Granny and Grandpa Bob in their suburban to visit Radium Springs in Albany, bouncing on the old seesaw, and spending countless hours on the front porch watching Easter Egg Hunts and talking about nothing in particular but ultimately everything that mattered.

Bob loved to fish, and undoubtedly his fondest time spent with his family was seasonal visits to the Shell Island Fish Camp in St. Marks, Florida. His family has no doubt that his dear friend who passed before him, Mr. Glen Stokes had a bucket of shrimp and a boat ready to cast their lines into the flats for Speckled Trout and Spanish Mackerel.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Marjorie Anderson; a brother, David Glenn Anderson; Mother-in-Law, Mattie Solomon; Stepdaughter, Debra Clark; Stepson, Mark Stokes; and Step Granddaughter Ashley Gaultney. Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra Anderson; Brother, Joseph Kent Anderson; Stepson, John Stokes (Rena), Daughter-in-Law, Lisa Stokes, Nine Grandchildren, Twenty-One Great Grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
