Naomi Claycomb (Claycomb) Mattingly

Mrs. Naomi Elisabeth Mattingly of Griffin and formerly of Albany, passed away, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Spalding Regional Hospital in Griffin. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home in Albany . Born on March 28, 1936 in Springfield , Illinois , Mrs. Mattingly was the daughter of the late Elva Claycomb and Joseph Claycomb. She was of the Baptist faith and was a devoted homemaker. Naomi will be remembered as a loving and comical mother, grandmother and aunt who taught us what life was really all about. Mrs. Mattingly was preceded in death by her husband, William Walter Mattingly. Survivors include her daughter, Debra Kay Sorrell (Feranando) of Griffin; son David Mattingly (Suzanne) of Marysville, Indiana; sister Ruth Bobe of Pensacola, Fl; 7 grandchildren Sandra McDonald (EJ), Troy Powell (Loni) Tracy Sadler (Matthew), Kelly Rice (Scott), Kristina Williams, David Mattingly Jr., Shawn Mattingly and 13 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
