Mr. Nash “Evans” McCorvey, 81, of Worth County, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mitchell County. Rev. Ricky Griner will officiate with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Born May 14, 1931 in Tift County, Mr. McCorvey was the son of the late John Dan McCorvey and the late Alice Dillard McCorvey. He worked as a farmer and a truck driver with Southern Ag for twenty-five years. Mr. McCorvey was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Mitchell County. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Mildred McCorvey; son, Ronald McCorvey of Albany; daughter, Sue Howard of Sylvester; two brothers, Marvin (Myrdell) McCorvey and Bobby McCorvey; sister, Mary “Tink” Sumner all of Nashville, GA; seven grandchildren, Sonya Lynn Chambers of Charleston, SC, Stacy (Mike) Hazelrigg of Jacksonville, FL, April (Chris) Bentley of Leesburg, GA, Neysa (Clay) Brogdon of Crawfordville, FL, Justin Howard of Albany, GA, Josh McCorvey of Sylvester, GA and Tabitha (Robert) Baker of Albany, GA and seven great-grandchildren, Karmen Davis, Nash Harrell of Leesburg, GA, Douglas and Dana Hazelrigg of Jacksonville, FL, Trenton Brogdon of Crawfordville, FL, Bethany Wren and Nastassia Vincent of Albany, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 3 until 4 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
