Nellie (Greene) Hunter

Mrs. Nellie Greene Hunter, 98, of Albany, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 10, 2015 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Interment will follow on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Eastview Cemetery in Adairsville, GA. at 2:00 p.m. Born April 18, 1917 in LaFayette, Mrs. Hunter was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Dodd Greene. She worked for many years and retired from Flint River Textiles. She enjoyed cooking and everyone loved her peanut butter cookies and buck eyes. She was a member of Mt. Enon Baptist Church in Mitchell County and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Survivors include her grandson, Beau and Angela Hunter of Albany; four great-grandchildren, Wendell and Hillary Hunter, Chelsea Hunter and Ben, Frances and Jeremy Gardner and Dara and Jonathan Johnson; two great-great-grandchildren, Dillon and Dalton and two on the way. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nathaniel David Hunter; sons, Nathaniel Warren Hunter and David Wayne Hunter and granddaughter, April Hunter. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Hall and Hall Funeral Home has been entrusted to care for the Hunter family.
