Ms. Norma Jean Carlson, 79, of Albany, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at her home. A celebration of life service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Stan Glass will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Born December 17, 1938 in Guthrie, OK, Ms. Carlson was the daughter of the late Clarence Raymond Ditch and Lissie Shafer Ditch, simple farmers of Mulhall OK. She achieved her childhood dream of being a secretary. After starting at the Pentagon, Ms. Carlson completed over 42 years of civil service at MCLB in Albany. While working at the Pentagon she met a handsome sailor, Keith D. Carlson, married and traveled the world. Ms. Carlson loved life and was always smiling. She had numerous “adopted children” and was always eager to lift the spirits of those she loved. In addition to her parents, Ms. Carlson was preceded in death by her husband, Keith D. Carlson USN, (Ret.), brother Cecil Ditch and sister Vera Mae Barker. Survivors include her son, Douglas R. Carlson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Magda and many nieces and nephews.
