Norman “Dink” Schmidt, 53, of Albany, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
A memorial service honoring his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023, in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Hall officiating.
Dink was born March 19, 1970, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Norman Charles Schmidt and Shirley Joyce Schmidt. He was known as a hard worker and currently employed with the Georgia Department of Transportation in Albany. He attended Hope City Church where he was baptized and loved the Lord dearly. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting arrowheads, and could always be found whittling wood. Dink was known and loved by many. He was always making everyone laugh and would help anyone in need. A beloved husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Misty Schmidt of Albany; children, Chloe Schmidt of Albany, Micaih Smith of Atlanta, and Brianna Smith of Albany; mother, Shirley Schmidt of Albany; father, Norman Charles Schmidt of Texas; sisters, Laurie Dusterdieck and her husband Ted of Albany, Susan Sebastian and her husband Mark Coggins of Albany, and Mike Schmidt and his wife Natalie of Hinesville; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Wright, Samantha Sebastian, Sarah Schmidt, Jacob Schmidt; and a host of extended family and friends that loved him dearly.
Hall and Hall Funeral Home was given the honor to serve the Schmidt family.
