Mr. O.L. “Mack” McGlamry, 89, of Albany, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 4, 2012. A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Jimmy Hagadorn will officiate with interment to follow in the Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. McGlamry was born January 29, 1923 in Crisp County, son of the late, Oscar Lee McGlamry and the late Bessie McKinney McGlamry. He managed Knights Motor Company for many years and retired from the Marine Corps Logistic Base. He proudly served his country in the Army and Air Force, was a member of Berea Full Gospel Church, American Legion and the VFW. Mack as he was known by most was a Godly man who loved the Lord with all his heart. This allowed him to love his wife and family with the same love that Christ had given him. He was a talented worker with wood and made many rocking chairs and other things for many friends. He always had a smile and had an encouraging word. Heaven is now sweeter with him home and we look forward to the day that we are together again. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Grace Wynell Alligood Brooks McGlamry; sons, Dennis and Gay Brooks of Albany and Jerry and Alice Brooks of Lousiana; daughters, Lori and Jerry Crosby of Prattville, AL, Sharon and Skip Laney of South Carolina, Dianne Gonier of Albany and Kay and Ben Swilley of Statesboro; sister-in-law, Vera McGlamry of Albany; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
