Oscar Kilpatrick Porter, 89, of Albany passed away Monday, June 8, 2009 in Sylvester. Services honoring the life of Mr. Porter will be conducted Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Philema Road Baptist Church. Rev. Dan Harris will officiate with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Born October 18, 1919 in McCory AR, Mr. Porter was the son of the late Oscar K. Porter and Iv K. Jolly Porter. He was the owner of Roto Rooter Sewer Company of Albany for 34 years, a member of Philema Road Baptist Church and served our country in the Army. Mr. Porter enjoyed fishing, working with wood and gardening. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. In addition to his parentrsquo;s his two sons, Ronald Porter and Jackie Porter and a grandson, Stanley Fox, preceded Mr. Porter in death. Survivors include his loving wife, Louise Fox Porter of Sylvester; one daughter, Patricia Bryant and her husband, William of Albany; sons, Warren Keith Porter and his wife, Lynn of Albany, Mike Fox and his wife, Gloria of Sylvester, Johnny Fox and his wife, Marcy of Crestview, FL., Danny Fox and his wife, Mary of Fort Myers, FL.; two grandchildren, James Owen Barron III and Brandy Nichole Barron; two great-grandchildren, Ty Harlon Lewis and Gabriel Lane Lewis; seven step- grandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Friday at the Church. Hall and Hall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
