Pansy Cooke Lott

June 21, 1932 — August 26, 2024

Mrs. Pansy Cooke Lott, 92, a longtime resident of Albany, passed away at the Oaks at Pooler, in Pooler, GA, on Monday, August 26, 2024.


Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Salem Baptist Church of Worth County with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Nick Arbogast and Rev. Jackie Cabaniss will officiate. Mrs. Pansy will be laid to rest on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in the Andersonville National Cemetery.


Born on June 21, 1932, in Phenix City, AL, Mrs. Lott was the daughter of the late Roy Shadrick Cooke and Velma Newsome Cooke. She graduated from Georgia Southwestern in Americus where she earned her degree as a Registered Nurse. She was a proud military wife, and enjoyed traveling and camping with her late husband, family, and friends. She volunteered at Willson Hospice House of Albany, served with The Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief, was a member of The Baptist Nursing Fellowship of Georgia, and National Fellowship. Mrs. Pansy was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church of Worth County where she was a member of The Marie Aultman Sunday School Class. She served in different capacities of the church including teaching Sunday School, serving as a church mission director, singing in the choir, and volunteering with vacation Bible school. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Lott; her daughter, Pamela Lott Lunsford; and her two brothers, Charles and Larry Cooke.


Survivors include her son, Rick Lott and wife, Marsha of Rincon, and her son-in-law, Carl Lunsford of Climax; 6 grandchildren, Joy Davis, Jennifer Peterson, Allison Divine Rowe, Dr. Lauren Berry, Matthew Lott, and Justin Lott; 13 great-grandchildren.
