Pastor Dr. Heyward Mcknight

Pastor Dr. H. K. McKnight. Pastor Dr. H.K. McKnight, moved to Heaven on August 5, 2014. Absent from the body - present with the Lord (2 Cor. 5:8). He was a faithful Christian, husband, father, grand and great grandfather, pastor, and friend. Celebration of Life services will be held, Saturday, August 9, at 1:00 pm, at Bible Deliverance Temple, with the Rev. Dr. H. Kelly McKnight, Rev. Charlotte McGee-Ginn, Rev. Joshua O’Connor, Rev. Russell Paine and Martin O’Connor officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery in Augusta. Dr. McKnight was a member of Bible Deliverance Temple where he served as Senior Pastor, and later as Senior Pastor Emeritus, for the past 51 years. In addition to his wife, Wanda McKnight, he is survived by son and daughter in law, Reverend H. Kelly and Chastity McKnight, PhD, DD; daughters and sons in law, Debra and Leonard (Sonny) Rankin, and Sharon and Martin O'Connor, Greenville, SC; son and daughter in law, Casey and Tara McCollum, Clayton, N.C., and Cole Totton, Charlotte, N.C.; brother Hugh McKnight and wife Barbara, sister Delores McKnight-Murray and husband Jimmy; eleven grandchildren including Rev. Russell Paine who is a minister at Bethel Holiness Church in Putney and Funeral Assistant at Hall and Hall Funeral Home and fourteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 PM and Saturday, noon at the church. The family requests, as to their father’s wishes, that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bible Deliverance Temple (www.bibledeliverancetemple.com).
