Peggy Jane (Pruitt) Martin

April 21, 1930 — October 6, 2012

Mrs. Peggy Jane Martin, 82, of Albany, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 in Albany. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 11, 2012 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Andersonville National Cemetery. Born April 21, 1930 in Spur, TX, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Bascom Pruitt and the late Maxie Dillyshaw Pruitt. She retired form the Exchange at the Marine Corps Logistics Base and was Baptist by faith. She was a member of the Golden Key Club of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital and was also a member of the Bunko Club. Peggy was an avid bowler having been added into the Albany Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Hubert “Bert” Martin, Jr.; sons, William and Donna Martin and Thomas and Lisa Martin all of Fort Worth TX; daughter, Louella Calhoun of Albany; brother-in-law, Charles and Betty Martin of Burleson, TX; two sister-in-laws, Marie and Betty; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6 until 8 at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
