Ralph K. Rhodes

Mr. Ralph K. Rhodes, 84, of Aiken, S.C. and formerly of Albany passed away Monday, June 18, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 22, 2012, at Andersonville National Cemetery. Reverend Bill Swafford will officiate. Born July 7, 1927, in Rocky Mount, NC, Mr. Rhodes was the son of the late Burgess Gaither Rhodes and the late Alma Hull Rhodes. He served his country in the Army and retired serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. He retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base having worked there from 1977 until 1989. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, VFW and enjoyed playing golf. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Rhodes; brother, Carl E. Rhodes and sister, Louise Brown. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ed Shillcutt of Albany, GA; son, Mark Rhodes of Aiken, SC; sister, Willie Joiner of Raleigh N.C.; grandson, Justin Ryan Stevens; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to a veteran’s organization of your choice.
