Randall 'Randy' Avera

Mr. Randall Randy Avera, 59, of Albany, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Ralph Horne will officiate with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. Born June 24, 1954 in Aiken, South Carolina, Mr. Avera was born to Harris D. Avera and Estelle Shelton Avera. He was a real estate owner in Albany who was known by his renters to have a heart of gold. He attended Liberty Parkway Church of God and will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. Survivors include his daughter, Amber Avera of Leesburg; his mother, Estelle Shelton Avera of Albany; sister, Joyce Odom of Putney; brothers, Raymond Avera of Putney, Roger Avera of Albany, Terry Avera of Albany and Mark Avera of Sylvester; grandchildren, Breanna, Ethan, and Landon who is expected to make his arrival soon; his caregiver and sister-in-law, Teresa Avera; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Avera was preceded in death by his father, Harris D. Avera and a brother, Jerry Avera. The family will receive friends at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
