Revered William Ervin McCord, 91, of Albany went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 20, 2009. Funeral services honoring the life of Reverend McCord will be conducted Sunday, November 22nd at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Lynn Hurley officiating. Graveside services will be on Tuesday, November 24th at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside of Blue Grass Memorial Gardens in Lexington, KY. Born January 7, 1918 in Winslow, IN, Reverend McCord was the son of the late Fred McCord and Anna Elizabeth Barrett McCord. He was a retired Methodist Minister, having served for forty years in the Church. Reverend McCord enjoyed working in the Mission Field, walking and listening to gospel music. He will be greatly missed by his entire family and his brothers and sisters in the Lord. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted man of God who lived his life to serve the Lord and others. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Thelma Bottoms McCord of Albany; Sons, George Robert McCord and his wife, Mary Jane of Richmond, VA, William Eugene McCord of Brunswick, GA; brothers, Gola Pearl McCord of Washington, IN and Virgil McCord of Atlanta, GA; sister, Clova Marie Dobbyn of Washington, IN; grandchildren, Marvin McCord and his wife, Carolyn and Christie and her husband, Noel; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Rachael and Kruz. The family will receive friends one hour before the service on Sunday, November 22nd at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
