Mr. Rex Wilson, 87, of Albany, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Putney. Dr. Todd Sullens and Dr. J.L. Naylor will officiate with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens. Born January 22, 1930 in Samson Alabama, Mr. Wilson was the son of the late Johnny and Thelma Barker Wilson. He served his country in United States Army and retired from Coats and Clark with more than 40 years of service. He enjoyed riding his tractor, mowing grass, fishing, playing dominoes and bowling. More than anything he loved God, his family and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Putney. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Ezell Wilson and granddaughter, Stacey Bullington. Survivors include his wife, Stella Simpson Wilson of Albany; son, Rex Eugene Wilson and Donna of Leesburg; daughters, Cathy Bullington of Albany, Debbie Roberts and Joe of Mitchell County and Angie Wilson Davis of Leesburg; step-son, Larry Simpson of Welaka, FL, Glyn Simpson of Greenville, SC, Jeff Simpson of Tunnel Hill, GA, Deborah Thompson of Holly Springs, GA and Linda Smith of Albany; 7 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.hallandhallfuneralhome.com.
