Richard D. Updyke

Mr. Richard D. Updyke, Sr., 58, of Albany, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Willson Hospice House. Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. The Reverend Robin Chaplin will officiate. Mr. Updyke was born November 9, 1952 in Fort Carson, Colorado, son of Harley W. Updyke and Lois A. Archer Updyke. He will be missed by his family and his many friends. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Goodwin of Albany; sons, Richard Updyke, Jr., Harley Wesley Updyke II, Joey Cowart and William H. Goodwin all of Albany; daughters, Angela Roberts and husband, Chad of Ozark, AL, Lois Beth Beck and husband, Garrett of Daleville, AL and Teresa Gresham and husband, Ray of Leesburg; sisters, Trudy Varbel and husband, Chuck of Ozark, AL, Terry Rust and husband, Glen of Newton, AL and Tracey Werstler and husband, Ben of Dothan, AL; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends following the service on Tuesday at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
