Ronnie Marshall Merritt

Mr. Ronnie Marshall Merritt, 72, of Albany, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mitchell County. Rev. Ricky Griner will officiate with interment to follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Born September 26, 1942 in Doerun, Mr. Merritt was the son of the late Allen G. and Carrie Jo McCarty Merritt. He had worked for Merck and Company for over twenty-four years and was the owner and operator of Ronnie Merritt Well Drilling and Pump Repair. In addition to his parents, Mr. Merritt was preceded in by his brother, Wayne Merritt. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Agnes Janes Merritt of Albany; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey and Melanie Merritt of Leesburg and Todd and Yolanda Merritt of Albany; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Gary Smith of Albany and Amy and John Baldwin of Mitchell County; brother, Jimmy Merritt of Albany; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Lemuel Griffin of Albany and Peggy and Hugh Eledge of Albany and 9 grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Hall and Hall Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2015. Hall and Hall Funeral Home of Albany has been entrusted to care for the Merritt family.
