Roy ''Ryan'' Brookerd

Mr. Roy “Ryan” Brookerd, 61, of Albany, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Pheobe Putney Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Services honoring the life of Mr. Brookerd will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall, 400 S. Westover Blvd, Albany, GA, 31707. Born November 2, 1949 in Thomasville, GA, Mr. Brookerd was the son of the late Roy Carson and Margaret Morris Brookerd. Mr. Brookerd was a self-employed businessman in the concrete industry. He loved fishing, playing his guitar, white water rafting and spending time with family and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brookerd was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Deleno Brookerd. He leaves behind his wife, Julia Hayes Brookerd; three sons, Scott and Diane Brookerd , Brent and Stacy Brookerd, Johnny and Carrie McDonald, two daughters, Melissa and Andy Kennedy, Bobbie and Darren Eubanks. Mr. Brookerd leaves eight grandchildren “papa’s pride and joys”, Carson Brookerd, Hannah McDonald, Joshua McDonald, Jordan McDonald, Aaron Kennedy, Elizabeth Kennedy, Gracie Eubanks, Kendall Eubanks; two brothers, Wannie and Sharlotte Brookerd, and Reneand Diana Brookerd. He also leaves behind a very special aunt, Barbara Cochran, and many friends and loved ones. Family will receive friends and family at the residence on Tuesday January 18, 2011 after the memorial service.
