Sara Dee Johnson, 74, of Albany passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in Albany. She was the eldest child of Currie Dee and Sara Hopkins Robinson Johnson of Mount Vernon and a graduate of Montgomery County High School and Georgia Southern College. Sara Dee was a talented musician and popular grade-school teacher in Evans and Montgomery counties. She was known for her generosity, caring spirit, enthusiasm, love of family, inner and outer beauty. She resided in Albany for the last five years. Surviving relatives include her daughters, Beth Bell of Vidalia and Susan Peterson of Albany; grandchildren, Matt (Mandy) Hilton, John Matthews, and great-granddaughter, Maggie Hilton of Vidalia; sisters, Julia McRae of Montgomery, Alabama and Sue Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Roy Johnson of Morristown, Tennessee and John R. Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; aunts, Mary Julia Robinson Whaley of Baxley and Lucille Johnson of Deland, Florida. No services are planned at this time.
