Sarah Lee Lowell

Mrs. Sarah Lee Lowell, 84, of Albany, passed away peacefully at her home on December 9, 2021. A memorial service honoring her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at First Freewill Baptist Church in Albany. Sarah was born May 5, 1937, in Elba, Alabama to the late LD and Robbie Opal Hughes. Mrs. Lowell was a faithful and dedicated member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Albany. Mrs. Lowell often spent her days admiring her flowers and working in the yard. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, she will be greatly missed by all. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Lori Ann Holmes and Deborah Kay Brooks; and a son, Randall Brooks. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dan Allen Lowell of Albany; sons, Andy Lawhorn of Portland, OR, Joey Lawhorn (Alice) of Slocumb, AL; daughter, Zena Phillips (Melton) of Albany; brothers, Charlie P. Hughes, Paschal Hughes; sisters, Jan Courson (Tommy) and Sue Wood (Glenn); 10 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and two cats, Bella & Gracie.
