Mrs. Shirley Ann Larrett Potter, 85, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, died peacefully at her home in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Shirley often said “You can’t go to Heaven until you’re invited” and she graciously accepted her invitation on July 21, 2012, at 7:15 a.m. She was born January 9, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan to Henry Earl and Mary Jane Larrett. Shirley is survived by her children, Laney, Joe, Billy, John Michael (“Beau”), Jenny, Daniel, Lauria, David, and Mary Jane. She is also survived by many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors also include three sisters, Nevada, Juanita (Dimey), Penny and their families. Shirley never wavered in her belief that she would be reunited with her sons, Jimmy and Jeff, who preceded her in death and she anxiously awaited their escort into Heaven. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 22, at Hall and Hall Funeral Home, Albany, GA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, at Hall and Hall Funeral Home, 324 S. Mock Road in Albany. Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Albany with Rev. Robin Chaplin officiating.
