Ssgt Thomas Siwiec

SSgt Thomas Stanley Siwiec passed away peacefully under his family’s vigilant care, at home, on the morning of Thursday, October 13, 2016. He was 84 years young. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2016 at Crown Hill Cemetery. Bro. Bobby Hall and family members will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m., Monday at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Mr. Siwiec proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, from 1949-1952, and the United States Marine Corps, from 1954 to 1970. He was a veteran of the U.S. Occupation of Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. Tom retired from 20 years of military service from the United States Marine Corps as Staff Sergeant and continued to serve his country for 22 years, working on the USMC Base in Albany, GA, until retirement in 1997. Originally from Chicago, IL, Tom's service to his country saw him travel to many parts of the world. He was a member of the VFW, DAV, and St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing bingo, his various pet dogs, and spending time with his family. Preceding him is his beloved wife of 30 years, Judith Ann Petroski Siwiec, mother, Julia Maciag Siwiec, father, Stanley Victor Siwiec, and sisters, Jeanette and Patricia. He is survived by his daughter, Kristan Harley and her husband, Matt Harley of Pace, FL. and four grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Hannah, and Lydia Harley and his pet dog, Buddy Buddy, and nieces Carrie, Donna, Susie, and Diane. His brilliantly blue eyes, quick wit, and charm captured the attention of everyone he encountered. We will always love him, as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and proud Marine.
