Valdree Wilson Bodiford

Mrs. Valdree Wilson Bodiford, 73, of Albany, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Willson Hospice House. Services honoring the life of Mrs. Bodiford will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph W. Jones will officiate with interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Andersonville National Cemetery. Born August 21, 1940 in Gastonia, N.C., Mrs. Bodiford was the daughter of the late Grady Wilson and Lillie Mae Nicholson Wilson. She worked for over twenty years with the Dougherty County School System in food service. She enjoyed reading, going to yard sales and especially loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-laws, Tina and Charles Whitfield of Doerun, Sherry and Dale Vinson of Sylvester; son, James O. Bodiford, Jr. of Albany; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Nikki Murphy of Pensacola, FL; sister, Judy Cole of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bodiford was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James Jack Bodiford, Sr. The family will receive friends following the service at Hall and Hall Funeral Home. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane Albany, GA. 31707 and/or to Disabled American Veterans at 807 Maine Avenue SW Washington, DC 20024, www.DAV.org
