Valencia H. (Hudson) Simmons

Mrs. Valencia Hudson Simmons, 60, of Baconton, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Chancellor will officiate with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens. Born September 20, 1952 in Dublin, Ga., Mrs. Simmons worked as a quality control technician with M M Mars of Albany, enjoyed gardening, cooking and loved the outdoors. She was known as a very caring and loving individual who had a heart for others. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include her husband, Marcus Simmons; sons, Henry Carter, Jr. of Albany; David Carter of Leesburg; daughter and son-in-law, Felicia and Joseph Sweat of Columbus; mother, Lula Woods Hudson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence and Barbara Hudson of New York City and Hugh and Barbara Hudson of Marietta, GA. her mother-in-law, Sylvia Sawyer; grandchildren, Tatyana Carter of Leesburg, Jordyn Sweat of Columbus, Henry ShaRod Carter, Donte Carter and Christopher Carter, Darnell Carter and Quentin Carter all of Albany. Mrs. Simmons was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Hudson; brothers, Gary Hudson, Ronald Hudson and Ferdinand Hudson.
