Mrs. Viola Mae Showalter, 84, of Tallahassee, FL and formerly of Albany, GA, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019. Since September 2014, she had resided in Tallahassee, FL, but always had Albany in her heart. Funeral services will be conducted at her home church at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2019, at Sunnyside Baptist Church in Albany. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the funeral hour. Mrs. Showalter will be laid to rest on Monday at Andersonville National Cemetery with her beloved husband of almost 51 years, Charles E. Showalter who preceded her death. Viola was born on August 29, 1934, in Marlinton, West Virginia and traveled the world with her husband while he was in the United States Air Force before retiring to Albany. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Emma Lance Beverage; four brothers, and one sister. She is survived by two brothers, Carl Beverage and Lake Beverage; daughter and son-in-law, Vonceil Kimbrel and Lewis who she loved dearly and two grandsons, Randall Kimbrel and his wife, Kristina and Ander Kimbrel; two great-grandsons, Fenton and Baker Kimbrel who were her happiness and her loving dog Chloe who was at her side. Her family would like to extend a sincere thank you to her loving caregivers, Yoshiko Camp, Doris Nealy and Viola Nealy.
