William Carroll Sr

Mr. William Jerome Carroll, Sr., of Poulan, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Born May 26, 1947 in Pelham, Mr. Carroll was the son of the late Oklen J. Carroll and the late Wanna Lee Webb Carroll. He enjoyed raising cows and chickens. Mr. Carroll had a passion for doing mechanical work on cars and trucks. He retired from RL Carriers as a truck driver. Mr. Carroll was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Sumner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Carroll was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Glasgow. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carroll; his son, William J. Carroll, Jr.; his brothers, Wayne Carroll, Dickie Carroll and Al Whittington; and his sisters, Kay Prosser and Vickie Cummings. A celebration of Mr. Carroll’s life will be held on Saturday, March 21 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Sumner at 1:30pm.
