William Mcginnis

TSgt. William Duane McGinnis, USAF (Ret.), 66, of Leary, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Providence Church with military honors presented by the Air Force. The family will visit with friends following the service. Pastor Josh Copron will officiate. The family has requested that everyone dress in casual patriotic. Born September 30, 1952 in Morgantown, WV, Mr. McGinnis was the son of the late Jack and Clarissa Phillips McGinnis. He proudly served his country in The United States Air Force. He worked as a reserve police officer in Kansas and worked in West Virginia at Pruntytown and Mt. Hope Correctional Facilities. He also worked as a correctional officer in Georgia at Dooly, Lee, and Calhoun State Prisons. Mr. McGinnis was a member of Knights Templar and was a member of Providence Church of Albany. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Shirley McGinnis of Leary; children, Shawn McGinnis of Warner Robins, Rebekah Everson of Perry and Stephanie Lane (Ronnie) of Leary; 3 brothers, Joe McGinnis (Paula) of Kingwood, WV, Tom McGinnis (Sheila) of Bentleyville, PA and Tim McGinnis (Linda) of Fairmont, WV.; 4 grandchildren, Kaleb Everson (15), Darian Jones (11), Gavin (7) and Lauryn (4) Jones; and the mother of his children, Beverly Y.
