Willie Lawrence Bird

Mr. Willie Lawrence Bird, 77, of Leesburg, passed away, Friday, March 13, 2015. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 17, 2015 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. David Grubbs will officiate. Born March 19, 1937 in Donalsonville, Mr. Bird was the son of the late Branch and Ada Lou Roberts Bird. He had worked for several years with Georgia Pacific and greatly enjoyed fishing. Mr. Bird liked to watch western movies and his grandchildren were his life. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bird was preceded in death by his son, Derek Bird; brother, Edgar Bird and step-son, Craig Wills. Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Kim Miller of Leesburg; grandchildren, Austin, Dustin, Kalynn and Haley Bird; step-daughters, Tammy Moyer of Albany and Cindy Butler of North Georgia; brothers, Arthur Bird of Bainbridge, Buford and Linda Bird of Cartersville and Sammy and Vera Bird of Kentucky; sisters, Betty L. Bird Dickinson and Sarah Miller both of Sylvester; niece and nephew, Linda and Rev. David Grubbs of Attapulgus. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday before the memorial service.
