Winona (Hart) Lawson

Mrs. Winona Hart Lawson, 86, of Albany, passed away Friday, February 28, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Reverend Ralph Horne will officiate with interment to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Americus. Born November 11, 1927 in Americus, Mrs. Lawson was the daughter of the late Doc Jessie Hart and Estelle Holt Hart. She worked for many years in the textile industry and was in later years a devoted homemaker. Children were precious to her and she loved the over 136 foster children that she cared for over the years. She was of the Church of God faith and had in past years, before her health declined been a part of Liberty Parkway Church of God. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Junior Lawson of Albany; sons and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Lawson of Albany and Johnnie Phillips of Kentucky; daughter, Valerie Lawson of Longview, TX; grandson , Clayton Seth Lawson of Albany; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Ruby Hart of Seal, AL. and several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
